At Clayton’s manufacturing plant in Rotherham, used hoists are returned to the factory for full reconditioning, a process that can restore a hoist to near original condition.

Records and statutory test certificates for every hoist ever manufactured are maintained against serial numbers and all modifications to standard units however minor are identified. This ensures that only the correct replacement parts are used. As a result of each Clayton unit that is reconditioned, will receive a twelve months guarantee, the same as when it was originally supplied.

The hoist unit is an enclosed design. High-grade ball or roller bearings are used throughout, and all gears are precision machine cut and also enclosed.

The Clayton sliding taper rotor high torque motor incorporates automatic braking which, in the event of power failure will sustain the load being fitted.

The power-driven carriage is fitted with two geared and two un- geared single flange runners and a cast steel frame.
